Hello Parrotheads. Happy October! Fall is here! I don’t know about you, but I love the fall and am happy it is here! Fall also brings us closer to the end of this “unique” year.
As you probably have all guessed, there is no Denver Halloween Parade this year.
There will also be no October Club Meeting. The rules are still too strict. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about this, but I didn’t make the rules. We are trying to follow the rules set forth by the Governor. If we have a meeting at Hoppers. we can only have about half of our group there. I don’t think it would be much fun saying A-M can come this month and N-Z next month. We aren’t allowed to mingle between tables, etc. Yes, I am well aware that other clubs in other cities are meeting. However, they are meeting at people’s homes, and only meeting outdoors. If anyone would like to host a PHC meeting, please let me know.
Donations Needed
It’s that time of year again, when 2 of our charities really need our help. Even though we are not having regular meetings, we’d like to have a food drive for the Community Table Food Bank and a drive for the Christmas Party at the Tennyson Center for Children.
Details for Tennyson Center for Children: Every year, the Tennyson Center has a Christmas Party for the kids. They give the kids essential items. They need gloves/mittens, socks, blankets and cute little things to go with them, like candy or some small item. They also need personal hygiene items, like soaps and shampoos. If you are able to, please pick up some of these items and I will collect them at my house and deliver them by Dec 1. They need enough items for 30 kids. Please contact Pete or Robin if you’d like to make a donation and we can arrange getting the items from you.
Details for Community Table: The food bank is running low and desperately needs donations. They need canned proteins and peanut butter, rice, canned veggies, spaghetti sauce and about any other type of non perishable food items that you can think of. Again, please contact Pete or Robin if you’d like to donate items so we can arrange getting them from you.
Since we haven’t had monthly charity events, let’s make these 2 charity events really great!
Member News
Long time Colorado Parrothead Member, Rob T. is in the hospital awaiting a kidney and liver transplant. Rob isn’t just a forty-something-year-old guy who works hard, plays harder, and would do anything for a friend… He’s now a forty-something-year-old guy who’s fighting for his life due to complications from COVID.
Up until a few months ago, Rob was a perfectly healthy guy. Rob ended up in the ICU on a ventilator for a month because of COVID. After months of ups and downs, Rob’s liver and kidneys have decided they’re exhausted too – and Rob is officially on the transplant list for both. He is too sick to go home, so he will wait in the hospital for this precious gift of life.
Rob and Stacy would never dream of asking people for money, but their friend set up a GoFundMe account for them. Please consider sending any amount you can. Even $10 adds up when dozens of people each give. If you cannot give today, mark your calendar for your next payday to come back and give then. They have a very long road ahead – and the need will still exist in a few weeks or months.
Below is the link where you can donate. Anything helps. Thank you!!
Club T-shirts!!
We are running low on club t-shirts for our 25th Anniversary. We have a few left in each size, but not a big assortment of colors any more. (Possible color options are: Pink, as shown below, Black, Butter Yellow, Caribbean Blue, Steel Gray, Periwinkle, Salmon and Sea Foam Green).
Please contact Robin or Pete to arrange getting your cool new club shirt! The cost is $30 each. (if you can’t make it to a meeting to pick one up, drop a check in the mail to us and please add $5 per shirt for shipping.)
The t-shirts are stored at Pete’s house, so give Pete a call if you want to stop by and pick up a shirt or 2, plus we will have them at all the club meetings.

Several in our group are interested in going, so we checked into group tickets. They don’t really have a group ticket sales up there, and we were not able to get a large group of tickets, but we did manage to get a few. We have a very limited number, so we will sell them on a first come first serve basis. The cost is $75 each. Sorry we can’t accommodate everyone, but there are still tickets for sale, so if you’d like to go, and can’t fit into our limited number, please buy some tickets online. It will be a very fun night. “Jeffafa” is a SUPER funny!
Contact Robin if you’d like to buy tickets.
Fins up!
