I hope you’re all having a great week, and getting ready for our big game this weekend. Go Broncos! Here’s some reading to help you fill the time while you wait for Sunday’s Super Bowl kickoff:
Float Update
Last night we had a float building meeting at Hopper’s and finalized the plans for our great “What The Flock!?” Parrot Head stampede float for the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Over the next couple of week’s we will continue to get things ready for our first build weekend, which will be February 27-28. This year we’ll need lots of volunteers to help us paint our flock of flamingos & other critters, and we’ll need some pro paper mache artist to help build our pot o’ gold. Also, since we decided we’ll likely make the pot out of paper mache – save your newspapers! We will take newspaper donations during the build weekends to make sure we have enough to create our massive pot of gold.
The other thing you can do to get ready for the parade is to plan your costume! We’d love to see some flamingo costumes, or your best take on a western inspired Parrot Head costume. You can come all decked out as a flamingo or parrot, or mix some cowboy attire with your finest Parrot Head gear. Get inspired! As for handouts, we’re doing leis this year, and the club will pick some up but we can always use donations if you want to bring your own.
Super Bowl Sunday at Hopper’s & The Fainting Goat
We hope you’re as excited as us about the big Bronco game this Sunday! If you are looking for a place to enjoy the Super Bowl, stop by our home bar, Hopper’s Sports Grill or their sister pub, The Fainting Goat. Both locations will be offering specials on game day, including happy hour all day long and other drink specials. That means you can celebrate with a few drinks when the game gets good, and if heaven forbid things start to look a little too close for comfort, you can have a few more to calm your nerves.
