Emergency edition PWAP Newsletter

Postponed until Sunday August 26th

We have had almost NO rain in Arvada this entire summer.. and of course on our “big day” it is raining on our parade. So, the PWAP will now be tomorrow. Unfortunately we won’t have Mike Nash playing. We will have the Groove Time Sitters, along with a LOT of auction items and baskets for raffle. See below, for details. I hope you can all still make it.

This is truly disheartening. We were ready, and it was going to be an EPIC day!

Mike will be playing indoors this afternoon at the Emerald Isle, in Southeast Aurora. if anyone wants to go see him play. It’s free to get in. but please tip Mike if you go, since he lost out on a lot of $$ because of this rain and move of the show. Mike will be playing all original music today, so it will be a real treat!

Just so everyone is clear.. this afternoon’s show is NOT the PWAP. That will be tomorrow. There will be no baskets or auction items today at Mike’s show.

Where: Emerald Isle – 4385 S Parker Rd, Aurora, CO 80015
When: 2:00pm

Party with a Purpose!

This year’s PWAP will not be today, we’ve moved it to tomorrow, July 26, 1:00pm, at Pete’s house on the BIG STAGE!!… the Arvada Smokin’ Tuna Stage!

Our band will be a local band called “The Groove Time Sitters!”

Price for tickets will be $20. All money collected, goes to the musicians. For those who have already paid over PayPal.. I know who you are.. I will issue you a full refund for today’s events and if you decide to come out and join us tomorrow, you can pay then. For those who paid Pete in advance, we will also give you a refund if you can’t make it tomorrow. If you can make it, we will give you the difference in admission.

Anything above and beyond what the Groove Time Sitters charges, will go to the charity.

When you get to Pete’s go in the gate at his North Driveway. (where the concrete driveway is) You can park in the restaurant lot to the North of his house, or in the business lot to the South of his house, but please enter the gate on the North Driveway. That’s where we will have someone collecting the money.

Given the size of Pete’s yard, there is plenty of room to practice social distancing.

We are still having our charity silent auction and raffle baskets, so please donate if you can for these. We have a lot of nice items coming in! Thank you to all who have donated so far!!

Please let me know if you plan on bringing an item for the Auction or Raffle so I can get bid sheets ready.

When: Sunday, July 26 1:00pm – the gate opens

Where: Arvada’s Smokin’ Tuna – the Stage at Pete’s house

What to bring for the event :

  • A chair
  • Sunscreen
  • A Canopy for shade, if you have one
  • Your own drinks
  • Your own food. (Due to COVID-19, we feel it is best for everyone to bring their own food and rather than our traditional pot luck) *** Pete has a BBQ Grill that can be used, if you’d like.

Since this is going to most likely be a smaller event this year, we’ve decided to focus on only one charity. That is “My Fairy Dawg Mother.”

See you Sunday!!

Fins up!

Parrot Head President, Pete!
