Happy June!
It’s Meeting Week!!
We are almost back to normal with meetings! Brian W will be playing again at the meeting on Saturday, just like the good old days, pre-covid. We also have a great charity for this one. We’re going to donate our money this month to the Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR). This is near and dear to Robin’s heart, so she is providing some pretty cool raffle prizes! As always, if you’d like to donate any raffle items, it will be greatly appreciated.
The donation to GRRR will go in CPHC’s name, and to honor her old boy, Jake. The next male Golden who comes into the rescue will be named Jake in his honor.

Party With a Purpose!!
We have a date set! Sunday, August 8, PWAP!
This year we will have Mike Nash playing, followed up by a local band called Johnny & The Mongrels. They are a high powered. New Orleans influenced band that is the perfect combination of a funk filled heart and a deep Bayou soul.

Let’s raise a lot of money this year for our charities! We need baskets for our “Chinese Raffle” and we need silent auction items. Please contact Karen or Robin if you have something you’d like to donate for us.
Date: Sunday, August 8, 2021.
Time: 2:00pm – 8pm. (we realize it is a Sunday, so we are planning the evening to be over by 8pm)
Where: Pete’s Place (the Arvada Smokin Tuna) 5461 Marshall Street, Arvada.
Tickets are on sale through the website at https://coloradoparrotheadclub.org/pay-cphc/
We will also have tickets for sale at each of the meetings. See Pete, Robin or Karen for ticket purchase at the meetings.
This year, I am excited to announce our charities, one of them we’ve had in the Past and that is My Fairy Dawg Mother. You are all probably familiar with them. They are a non-profit, foster based dog rescue. They have greatly appreciated our help in the past, so let’s help them again this year!!
Our second charity is a new one for us. It is called “Over the Edge,” run by our own CPHC member Dick Fulton, Executive Director of PVA CA chapter. This event raises funds for paralyzed veterans to enjoy adaptive sports, learn a new trade, travel, and earn educational scholarship.
Paralyzed Veterans of America, a congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946, has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of their members – veterans of the armed forces, who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction. PVA will use that expertise to be the leading advocate for: Quality health care for their members, Research and education addressing spinal cord injury and dysfunction, Benefits available as a result of their members’ military service, Civil rights and opportunities that maximize the independence of their members. To enable Paralyzed Veterans to continue to honor this commitment, they recruit and retain members who have the experience, energy, dedication, and passion necessary to manage the organization and ensure adequate resources to sustain the programs essential for Paralyzed Veterans of America to achieve its mission.

Northern Colorado Parrothead Event: For anyone looking for a fun weekend, our Phriends in the Northern Colorado PHC are having an event in June. The Northern Colorado PHC runs the beer garden at this event in Craig, Colorado. This is their big fund raiser for the year and all the proceeds the Parrotheads make on the beer garden, go to one of their favorite charities. If you are looking for something fun to do this summer, this looks like a wonderful event and it will support our fellow Parrotheads! See information below.

Red Rocks shows: Still no ‘official word’ on Red Rocks shows.. so keep your fingers crossed! I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something! As we all know, this kind of thing can be taken away from us at any time. If they can hire enough staff to run everything, and if we don’t get shut down again, we may actually have Buffett concerts this year!!
If you had tickets last year and did not request your money back, you will still have tickets to the show this year. I will keep everyone posted on any news about the concerts.
Karen and Robin are working on plans for tailgating, so once we know for sure if the show is happening, we will share all the details on that.
Keep your fingers crossed!!

Several in our group are interested in going, so we checked into group tickets. They don’t really have a group ticket sales up there, and we were not able to get a large group of tickets, but we did manage to get a few. We have a very limited number, so we will sell them on a first come first serve basis. The cost is $75 each. Sorry we can’t accommodate everyone, but there are still tickets for sale, so if you’d like to go, and can’t fit into our limited number, please buy some tickets online.
