It’s Float Build Week!

St Patrick’s Day Float Build!
Duffy’s Crane Service will deliver the trailer at the end of this week. We’ll be ready to start building on Saturday morning, 9am. We’ll work on Saturday and Sunday at Pete’s place! If you don’t know where that is, reply to this email and I will send you the address.
The theme for the parade this year is “America250.” The United States 250th Anniversary marking 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. Of course, we will tie it all in “Irish Parrothead Style.” We’ll need builders, artists, and painters Saturday and Sunday. As always, wear old clothes, bring a chair for break time, snacks, your own beverages and sun screen! We’ll be handing out parade wristbands both Saturday and Sunday. You must be a paid member in good standing to get a wristband. Each member will get 2 wristbands.

St Patrick’s Day Parade!As I previously mentioned, you must be a paid member, in good standing, to march with us. If you haven’t already joined for the year, now would be a good time to sign up and pay the annual dues!This year’s parade will be held on Saturday, March 14. I will send out the detailed information as soon as I receive it from the Denver St Patrick’s Day Committee.
Start getting your festive America250/Parrothead/St Patrick’s attire ready! Don’t plan on wearing a green shirt and calling it good, you’ll need to be a lot more festive than that! The more festive the better!
Start stocking up on candy, leis, small bubble packs and/or other small items to hand out to the kids along the parade route.
We have limited space to ride on the float, so if you need to ride, please let me know. This will be on a “first come first served basis.”
We’ll be handing out wrist bands to be able to march in the parade at the float build, so stop by to get your wristband on build days. I will also hand out wristbands the morning of the parade, but it would be helpful if you got your wristbands before parade day, that day can be quite hectic.
Please read the parade rules, some are very important, especially the one about throwing candy/beads, etc to the crowd. We have to hand the items out, we cannot throw. We’ve seen the Parade committee pull floats out of the parade for throwing things into the crowd.
