Happy Thursday Parrot Heads!
I don’t know about you, but I am still on a high about that game last Sunday. Our Denver Broncos are going to be playing in the Super Bowl! Can you even believe it? I know we have a few Patriots fans in the club, and I’m really sorry for your loss. Only, I’m not all that sorry at all because THE BRONCOS are going to THE SUPER BOWL! Woohoo!
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s get to a few important updates:
Float Build Meeting Next Week
We got a lot of really positive feedback on our float theme and the draft of the design. We heard that many of you are pretty excited to get all flamingo-y for the St. Patrick’s Day parade. However since we didn’t have a full meeting in January, we really need to gather a few great minds one more time to nail down some details & talk about how we build our design. As we mentioned last week, the theme is “What the Flock!?” and our story involves some Parrot Head settlers in Colorado who are making their way via a “tiki wagon” to Key West, when they stumble upon a leprechaun and his pot of gold, causing our flock to stampede. We hope our stampede will be be mostly feathered creatures – flamingos, parrots – with a few other western critters joining in.
The folks we’d really like to see attend this meeting are those who will be helping us build the float. There’s not a ton that we have to figure out, but we do want to talk about how to build a huge pot of gold for the tongue of the trailer, one that is big enough for couple of Parrot Heads, speakers and other gear to fit inside. We’ll also need to figure out a materials list for the build. It shouldn’t take much time to hammer out the build details. Our meeting will be next Wednesday, 2/3/2016, 6pm at Hoppers. If you need some incentive to join us, remember that Wednesday is all-you-can-eat wing night. Come help us plan the final build details & enjoy some cold beers and hot wings.
Annual Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade Pub Crawl
The Annual Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade Pub Crawl will take place on Saturday, February 27, 2016 starting at 11:00 a.m. Attendees of the Pub Crawl will travel in first class comfort to 3 of the most famous watering holes around Denver. There will be raffles, giveaways, along with appetizer and drink specials, and Michael Collins Pipes and Drums will be performing. Tickets for the Pub Crawl are be $25 per person and went on sale to the public January 18th. If you aren’t going to be helping us build the float that afternoon, this is a fun event to attend. I don’t have specifics on just how to buy the tickets yet, but if you’re interesting in attending let me know and we’ll get you in touch with the right people.
