Happy Friday, everyone! Yes, I know, we normally send these updates on Thursday. Unfortunately this work week has been the worst, so you’ll just have to settle for an update today. On the upside, TGIF! We’re almost to the weekend! Here’s what’s new since we last visited…
Jimmy Buffett Concert Ticket Payments
If you were confirmed to receive concert tickets for the 2016 Red Rocks show, then you should have received an email about payments. We can accept cash, check or money orders (sorry, no PayPal payments) and we just need to have your payment by May 21st. That means you can bring it to our May meeting, or maybe in the next few weeks we’ll have a little social hour to meet up for drinks, and take payments there. For those of you who have already sent your checks – thank you! We have received a lot in the mail. Please understand we’re not cashing them just yet, we’re waiting till we get a little closer to the Red Rocks deadline, so don’t be alarmed if it doesn’t immediately clear. Just be patient with us, and we promise to let you know soon if we didn’t receive you check.
As for tailgating, that is still up in the air, too. We’re waiting to see if we can work out anything with Red Rocks, and we have a Plan B that we can consider if that falls through. Once we get all the details for our pre-party options, we’ll meet and decide what the club wants to do. Again, patience. October is still a ways off.
Last Week’s Meeting Raised $600 for One Cure!
We want to thank everyone who came out to our meeting last week. What a turnout! It was great to see so many of you, and meet several new members. We are also thrilled that our raffle raised $600 for the One Cure organization! One Cure was recommended by our member Kelly Kirchmar-Heger, and she wanted to send a special “thank you” as well.
From Kelly: A HUGE thank you from my Scottie Kadie, Steve and I for all of you who stepped WAY up to the raffle call! WOW! We were so impressed by all that you did that night!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! One step at a time, we will get closer to a cure for cancer, and I feel so grateful that you all were a part of this big step to One Cure! Thank you!! We are so proud to be a part of this club!
MOTM Update
The team over at the Meeting of the Minds has updated their calendar to reflect many of the artists who will be performing at this year’s Parrot Head conference. You can check it out the updated schedule on the MOTM website. If you are an active CPHC member, you are eligible to attend MOTM, so if you haven’t already registered go check it out! Registration closes on September 15th, 2016 or when we they reach 3500 registered attendees. Learn more, see the schedule or register at https://www.phip.com/meeting
New this year there is a MOTM forum! Are you going to MOTM for the first time? Do you have questions? Do you want to share a room or a ride?
