It’s Meeting Week!

Please join us this coming Saturday for our monthly meeting.

When: 5:00 – 7:00pm, April 20, 2024
Where: Hopper’s Sports Bar, Wheat Ridge, Colorado

This month’s charity will be the Evergreen Public Access Defibrillation (EPAD)

Proceeds from our raffle will go toward the purchase of Automatic External Defibrillators, maintenance of the defibrillators and to teach CPR classes.  Over the past 22 years, the funds raised by groups like ours, have assisted in the placement of well over 100 defibrillators in Evergreen, Conifer and Genesee.  The money also helps fund their community CPR classes to residents for merely the cost of a book and certification card.

As always, please help us out by bringing a raffle item or 2.

See you Saturday!!

The Sauce Boss is coming to town!!
Looking for something to do on Memorial Weekend??
THE Sauce Boss, Bill Wharton will be playing at Max Gill and Grill off of I-25 and University.  Located in the Old South Gaylord Street Shops.

Where: 1052 S Gaylord St, Denver, 80209.
When: Friday May 24 and Saturday May 25, 6pm – 8pm.

If you haven’t seen the Sauce Boss, you are in for a treat!  The Sauce Boss is a powerhouse entertainer, mixing his Bluesy slide guitar and soulful voice into an unforgettable high-energy show. His very own hot sauce spices up a big pot of gumbo while he spices up the show with his own original Blues.   He has served hundreds of thousands of people for free, at his legendary live shows.  Sauce Boss mixes media like cornbread in his performance.  Hot sauce, Blues, chicken, funk, onions and okra, heartfelt songs, peppers and soul, seafood and slide guitar, all go into the gumbo. The aroma wafts through the place. The Sauce Boss stirs up the crowd.  The crowd stirs up the pot.  It’s a soul-shouting picnic of Rock and Roll brotherhood, and at the end of the show, everyone eats.

Bill Wharton, aka Sauce Boss, is the guy Jimmy Buffett sang about in his song “I Will Play for Gumbo.”  Wharton’s anthem, “Let the Big Dog Eat” is included on Buffett’s “Late Night Menu at the Margaritaville Cafe” album.  Albert Castiglia released his cover of the tune, and it hit #1 on the Blues charts.   “Let the Big Dog Eat” has also appeared in the movies “Something Wild” (Jonathan Demme) and the Rock Doc, “Jimmy Carter Rock and Roll President.”  This tune and 16 other works in the documentary, earned Wharton “Best Original Score” from the Los Angeles Film Awards.

The owner (Daniel) of The Max Gill and Grill is a life long Parrothead.  He’d love to see all of us at the Sauce Boss Show. The show is free, so hopefully we can fill the place with Parrotheads who will buy a Margarita or 3!
