CPHC Newsletter   Hello Parrot Heads.
Today is a very sad day in the Colorado Parrot Head Club community. One of our members has passed away.  Mike Arthurs left us yesterday, April 8. 2020.  Mike and Jane are long time members of our club. Mike was also on the Board of Directors for many years, and responsible for all of the food and toy donations throughout the year.  Mike’s caring and kind heart will not be forgotten. Mike TRULY was one of the best people I have ever met.  He was one of the good guys and will be greatly missed.

Sail on Mike, and Rest in Paradise.  Keep the beer cold for us… until we meet again.

Because of the Pandemic, Jane was recently laid off from her job.  We’ve set up an online fundraiser for her to help with medical, funeral and other expenses she is incurring right now.  If you would like to donate to help her out, please do so at this link we set up on our website:

https://coloradoparrotheadclub.org/donate/

A personal note from President Pete –
Mike Arthurs was my first friend in the CPHC. He was the one who told Robin and I about the Colorado Parrot Head Club and invited us to join.  I have always considered Mike a close friend.  I will miss his awesome sense of humor.   Mike was one of the most intelligent guys I know.. he was great on trivia night!  There is a big hole in my heart right now and a hole in the Colorado Parrot Head Club that simply can’t be filled.

As they say, “Death ends a life.. not a relationship.” That is so true, especially with Mike.  Even though Mike is no longer with us in person, his spirit will live on.  Whenever I hear “I like Beer!  It makes me a jolly good fellow,”  I will always think of Mike dancing and raising his glass.

Since we can’t get together as a group right now, let’s all take a few minutes to raise a glass to Mike this weekend.  Cheers to Mike, one of the truly good guys.  Sail on, Mike Arthurs, Sail on…

Please keep Jane in your thoughts and prayers. She lost her best friend of 35 years.  This is a very difficult time for her. In the donation link above, there is a place where you can leave her note and there is an address where you can send her a card, and we’ll deliver them to her as we get them.

(Note – for those who are concerned, Mike’s passing was NOT related to COVID-19)

April’s Club Meeting has been cancelled.  Fingers crossed we’ll be able to meet in May!!

If you are looking for something to do while you are home, check out the FaceBook Page “Quarantine Concerts Worldwide.” Many of our favorite artists, like Mike Nash, Rob Hill, Donny Brewer and Sunny Jim are performing live shows on this FaceBook feed.  There are performances going on all day and night,  with so many different people from around the world.  These performers are all doing their own music, no covers (due to potential copyright issues) and the shows are amazing!     Tune in and watch!

Jimmy Buffett has also started his “Cabin Fever Tour.”
Starting Wednesday, March 25, every Wednesday and Saturday at 8 p.m. ET and PT. Buffett will be re-broadcasting shows from his live archives via margaritaville.tv or tune into Radio Margaritaville on SiriusXM.  You may see yourself or someone you know at one of Jimmy’s past concerts!

As of now, Jimmy Buffett is still performing at Red Rocks in September.  He has rescheduled other shows in June and July, but so far, we are still on for September 8 and 10, 2020.

The deadline to order tickets was March 13. I released the remainder of our tickets to other clubs, but I have had a few cancellations.  People are thinking the concert dates may change and don’t want to pay for the travel. So, to our members who haven’t gotten tickets yet, email me, and I may have a ticket or 2 I can sell you.  If I don’t have them now, I will put you on a waitlist in case I do get more cancellations.

I can’t sell you more tickets if you have already gotten your allotted amount.  You must be a member in good standing with our club or another PHC, in order to get any tickets.

REMEMBER: A commitment to buy tickets means you are responsible to pay for them.   Please mail your checks this week to:  (The tickets are $165.50 EACH) Colorado Parrot Head Club
% Robin Reed
7167 Dudley Drive
Arvada, CO 80004
Please make check payable to Colorado Parrot Head Club

Please do not ask me for extra tickets.  If you have friends who want tickets, they can join the club and I will put them on the list.

Cost $165.50 each

We have had several people forget that extra .50 cents. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but with the number of tickets we have, we will lose a lot of money if we don’t collect that extra .50 cents from everyone.. so please don’t forget to add it up correctly.
2 Tickets is $331… and 4 tickets is $662.

Ticket prices include a free download of Jimmy’s new CD, so if you don’t want your email address sent off to get this download, please let me know. If you do not let me know that you object, I will be sending your email addresses to the Margaritaville people so they can send everyone the link to download Jimmy’s latest album.
