Happy Thursday Parrot Heads! I know that this group really likes their beer and margaritas, but today, February 18th, is National Drink Wine Day! A big glass of wine sure sounds good right about now, doesn’t it? It’s sort of your responsibility to celebrate the holiday with a glass (or bottle) of your favorite vino today, so enjoy!
Before you go pop the cork on that bottle, let’s cover a few important updates for this week:
New Float Build Site (Yes, again)
So, after last week’s announcement of a site change for our float build, we got a few more offers for other locations. Thanks to EVERYONE who submitted a location, including Jack, Dar, Gloria, etc. We appreciate how much you all want to help our build be successful.
In the end we decided to move the build to Pete Grosskreuz’s place in Arvada. It’s very close to I-70 and Wadsworth, not far from Hopper’s. Best of all, it’s only about 7 miles from the staging area at Coors Field. Pete has a huge yard with more than enough space for our trailer. It’s fenced, secure, and given that Pete is providing the tiki bar again this year, it makes total sense for building and tear down to have our float build there. We are very thankful to Pete for stepping in to help us out! Full details and directions to the build will come out next week, and we’ll have more info at the meeting this weekend. Barring any act of God, this will be the FINAL change to our build site this year, we promise.
We will send out a special edition newsletter next week with lots of float build & parade day info. Stay tuned!
Save the Date! 19th Annual Donohue St. Patrick’s Day Party

Kick off the St. Patrick’s Day season early with the 19th Annual Donohue St. Patrick’s Day Party on Thursday 3/10/2016 at The Fainting Goat. This is a great fundraising event for the Avielle Foundation A suggested donation of $30 at the door gets you 2 drink tickets and access to The Fainting Goat Pub’s Irish Buffet. In addition to the great food and drink, there will be a silent auction, and a performance by Michael Colins Pipes & Drums. Chris & I will be there, and we’d love if any fellow Parrot Heads want to join us. Hope to see you there!
Club Meeting This Weekend:
Come Celebrate National Margarita Day Early!
This Saturday, 2/20 is our monthly club meeting at Hopper’s. Since National Margarita Day (2/22) is just a few days after we meet, what better time to celebrate than by enjoying some margaritas with your CPHC friends! Hopper’s is working on offering a margarita drink special for our meeting, so come thirsty and wear your finest in Margaritaville attire. Three Sheets will be playing, we’ve got lots of great “crap” for our monthly raffle, and we will have your parade day wristbands ready to distribute to active members. It’s going to be a great time, so I hope to see you ALL there!
That’s all for this week. See you all on Saturday!
