Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Whether you’re Irish, or you just like to celebrate like you’re Irish this time of year, I hope you have a great day! Raise a pint, or a shot of whiskey, or a margarita (hey, it’s green!) and celebrate. Wherever you raise your glass, just remember to be safe out there.
Speaking of St. Patrick’s Day, we hope everyone had a blast at Saturday’s Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade! I am so thankful for each and every one of you who helped to plan, design and build that float – not to mention all of you who came dressed up in your finest Parrot Head/Western/Flamingo outfits. I think the parade was a great success, but we couldn’t have done it without each one of you. So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
Here’s what we have coming up this weekend and beyond:
March Club Meeting This Saturday
Yes, we still have a club meeting this month! Join us this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Hopper’s for our March meeting. We can celebrate another successful year in the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade, while we enjoy great music, food and drink, and some fun raffle items! Best of all, Hopper’s is going to hook us Parrot Heads up with not one, but TWO drink specials this Saturday night! The first is Parrot Punch, featuring Parrot Bay coconut rum and Captain Morgan grapefruit rum. The second is a Tropical Tea, featuring Bacardi Oak Heart. I don’t know about you but I’m already thirsty just thinking about those cocktails! Come thirsty, and don’t forget to bring your pop tops, peanut butter and/or canned food donations for charity.
Beer Friday at the Schwoegler’s
We have our first 2016 Beer Friday on the calendar, thanks to Glenn and Marilyn Schwoegler! On Friday, April 8th they will host a beer Friday at their home at 6523 Shannon Trail in Highlands Ranch. If you haven’t been to a Beer Friday, you need to come check it out – it’s a great way to socialize with all your fellow CPHC members in a fun, relaxed, social setting. Glenn and Marilyn will have light beer on tap if you want to donate towards their keg, or you can BYOB. Please bring an appetizer or snack to share if you can. We hope to see you all there! If you are interested in hosting a Beer Friday (or Saturday) sometime in the next few months – let me know. We’d love to get our CPHC Event Calendar filled with more of these fun social events.
Save the Date to Party With A Purpose
Our annual summer Party With a Purpose house concert at Lee and Robin Grodsky’s has been confirmed for Saturday, August 20th. We’ll be skipping our normal club meeting that month and celebrating down south in Castle Rock, with a live house concert by Thom Shepherd and Coley McCabe! This annual party is great fun, and raises a bunch of money for charity, so we hope you join us. Tickets are available to CPHC members for $20 each, and Lee will have them for sale beginning at this month’s club meeting. We’ll be looking for some volunteers to help with this party as the date grows closer, so stay tuned for more info if you want to help out.
