Happy Thursday, Parrot Heads! Only one more day until we can start the weekend, and it sounds like we may get another beautiful weekend. Let’s hope this nice weather sticks around a while!

If you’re free this weekend and want an excuse to get out and enjoy the weather, come join us at the float build!

Float Build This Weekend

Once again this weekend we’ll be working on the float from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday at Pete Grosskreuz’s house at 5461 Marshall St, Arvada CO 80002. We hope to get everything done this weekend so we don’t have much finishing work to do next week, so please consider coming out and lending a hand.

On Saturday we will not be providing lunch, but there is a restaurant just next door, Jordan’s Time To Eat Restaurant. The restaurant owner was was great to us last weekend, and even donated some items for our float! Consider grabbing breakfast or lunch at Jordan’s on Saturday to thank them for their support! We will have snacks and water on Saturday. On Sunday, when Jordan’s is closed, we’ll fire up the grill again.

Once again, if you come to help out feel free to bring your tools, work gloves, chairs, beer and snacks. If you have any issues finding us, or any questions, call or text me at 720-839-4572.

Parade Day Update

We confirmed that the parade staging lot at Coors Field should be open at 8:00 AM on parade day. If you want to come down early to help us finish up the float, please arrive by 8:00 AM. Please only come early if you’re going to help, because we will not be serving alcohol until the float is ready. For everyone else, plan on arriving at 8:30 AM. We will be stepping off very early this year, so don’t be late.

An email was sent on Tuesday with all the details for parade day. If you didn’t see the email, you can link to the info here: 2016 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Update

Finally, remember that you must have a wristband to participate with us in the parade. If you haven’t gotten your wristbands yet, stop by the build site this weekend to pick them up. If you can’t get by to pick up your wristbands, let me know so we can make other arrangements.

Koozies!

Jessica Burch of Design Farm 30A has created some koozies for our St. Patrick’s Day float this year! You can purchase your CPHC “What the Flock?” koozies at this weekend’s float build, at the parade (they will be for sale after the parade, not before), and if any are left, at our March meeting. Koozies are $3 each or 2 for $5, and are first-come-first-serve. Get them while they last!

New Website

We’ve made some big changes to the Colorado Parrot Head Club website. You can now read an archive of our news (from the newsletters) there, so if you ever miss the email you can still see the latest news online. Check out our new site to see all the changes, and refer your friends or other prospective members to the site to learn about our club and sign up to be a member. Our website can be reached at colophc.org or at coloradoparrotheadclub.org if you’re not into the whole brevity thing. (Anybody get that movie reference?)

That’s all for today, folks. See you this weekend!
