Thank goodness it’s Thursday! I don’t know about you but I could really use a weekend right about now. But first how about some quick updates:
Jimmy Buffett is coming to Red Rocks!!
As we announced yesterday, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers have announced they’ll be playing Red Rocks on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Can you believe it? I know several of you thought I was playing a late April Fool’s joke, but it’s really happening!
We have gotten a ton of emails for tickets, and we’ll get responses back to everyone as soon as possible. Just be patient. Here’s a few things you should know about the show:
- We have a total of 300 tickets for our club, plus about six surrounding area clubs. We’ve never run out of tickets in the past, but this is a very special show so you never know. Therefore, before you recommend everyone you know join the club to get tickets, we wanted everyone to understand how we are prioritizing our tickets. We do consider the length of time a member has been in the club, and members who were active in the club before the announcement was made will get priority. So while we love all the new members (see below!) please don’t make promises to your friends, family, or coworkers that if they join now they will get tickets. We will do the best we can, but we simply cannot guarantee that.
- The public sale is expected to take place on Friday, April 22nd, in case anyone wants to know.
- There will be tickets available for less than our club price in the public sale, but they will not be in the front section. We were told our tickets would be somewhere in the first 35 rows. There will be less expensive tickets behind row 35 if you want to attend, but don’t want to pay for the premium seats.
- Yes, we will have a pre-party …. no, we don’t have any details yet. We will soon be reaching out to Red Rocks and seeing what arrangements can be made. When we know, you’ll know. Still, if you have any contacts, suggestions, or if you want to help with the tailgate, let us know.
That’s all we have on the concert for now. We can chat more about the concert at Saturday’s meeting.

As I mentioned, Jimmy’s Red Rocks announcement has inspired a lot of Parrot Heads to sign up and join our PHlock! We are thrilled to have you as part of our CPHC family. We hope to see you at our monthly club meetings, our summer Party With a Purpose, and other events. I know many of you have reached out to me, so please be patient as we work through all the emails. Our Club Meeting Is This Saturday
We are meeting this Saturday at Hopper’s, and once again they are offering a great cocktail special for Parrot Heads to enjoy. This month they’re offering a $4 Tequila Sunrise – yum! Now I am aware that the weather is not going to be playing nice this weekend. We’re hearing there could be rain, or snow, or both, or locusts.. who knows. Chris and I plan to be at the meeting, but please decide for yourself if the weather is safe for travel. Also, if there are any announcements about the meeting, we’ll post them on our Facebook page. You don’t even have to be a member of Facebook to see our page, so check it out when you want updates. Hopefully the weather will be bearable and we’ll see you all at Hoppers!
Beer Friday Recap
We had a really great Beer Friday party at Glenn & Marilyn’s last Friday! I want to thank them both for being so hospitable, and sharing their home and letting us all hang out and have fun. I know that many of you were at Opening Day and didn’t get to partake in the party, but we’ll have more Beer Friday’s on the calendar soon. If you want to host a Beer Friday (or Saturday, or Sunday) party at your house, let me know.
