What a busy week! Here’s what we have going on….
Jimmy Buffett Concert Ticket Update
You all have kept Chris and I on our toes and we tried to manage the flood of emails about the Red Rocks show! Well, tonight we expect that to slow a bit because our ticket pre-sale for club members is officially closed! If you reached out to me for tickets you should have gotten a response already, either to confirm that your tickets are reserved, or to let you know you’re on a waiting list. If you haven’t heard from us to verify either way by now let me know.
Yes, you read that right – we sold all 300 PHIP tickets and have a waiting list for this show. That being said, if you reserved a ticket & end up not being able to use it, let me know. PHIP policies state you can’t sell them on the secondary market, they have to be sold to other PHIP members. So if you decide now or in the future you just can’t go, let me know, I may be able to hook you up with a buyer for your extra tickets.
Club Meeting This Weekend
Since Mother Nature didn’t play nice last weekend, we had to cancel our meeting. We’ll be meeting at Hopper’s this weekend instead, so please plan on joining us beginning at 6pm. Hoppers will still be offering a $4 Tequila Sunrise drink special for us this month, so we can toast the return of warmer weather! Remember to bring your peanut butter and canned food donations, and all those pop tops you’ve been collection, plus plenty of cash for our raffle!
This Month’s Raffle Charity: One Cure
Beginning this month we’re taking a slightly different approach with our raffle charity. While we want to continue to support the charities that CPHC has focused on in the past, we also want to select charities that are important to our club members. This month’s charity is one that is very special for club member Kelly Kirchmar-Heger: the One Cure program at CSU. One Cure is a new initiative founded on the principle that cancer affects all creatures and that treatment breakthroughs come through collaboration between scientists and doctors who are working with both people and animals. Donations to One Cure research helps all cancer patients – animal and human. Read more in Kelly’s story, below:
My Scottie dog (and husband approved best friend), Kadie, was diagnosed with liver cancer in May, 2015. She had amazing surgical oncologists and critical care surgeons that worked very hard to save her life, and today Kadie is cancer free! Kadie’s veterinarians were all trained at Colorado State University’s Animal Cancer Center. Their initiative, One Cure, combines the talents of amazing oncologists, surgeons and scientists to treat naturally occurring tumors in animals with cutting edge clinical trials (new treatments that are proving to be very promising) that are ultimately benefiting people in their own fight against cancer. It is a win/win organization that is saving lives and making strides in the battle against cancer!
Kelly won’t be able to attend this Saturday’s meeting to tell you about One Cure in person, because the weather delay means that our meeting is happening on the same night as a One Cure benefit she is attending. However, we can still support her cause by buying lots of raffle tickets! Who knows, you may even win some good “crap” too!
That’s all for today. I’ll see you all on Saturday!
Fins up!
