Happy National Beer Day!
You heard that right, today is National Beer Day! Now you have the perfect excuse to raise a pint and celebrate how on this day in 1933, President Roosevelt took the first step towards ending Prohibition by signing a law that allowed beer to be brewed & sold in the U.S. again. That sounds like a good enough reason to me for a few pints tonight… after all “I like beer! It makes me a jolly good fellow…”
Tomorrow: Beer Friday at the Schwoegler’s
Let’s keep the beer celebration going tomorrow with our first Beer Friday of 2016! Glenn and Marilyn Schwoegler are hosting at their home in Highlands Ranch. The fun starts at 6pm! Bring your own beverage of choice, or chip in and enjoy some light beer from their kegerator. I’m pretty certain there will be some beer pong, and lots of socializing and fun. Bring a snack or side to share if you can, and we’ll be sure to have plenty to nibble on, too. I’ll see you there!
We have a few more upcoming Beer Fridays scheduled so watch for more details soon. I believe we have Beer Fridays already in the works for June, July and August. If you want to host a Beer Friday, or maybe help to plan another fun CPHC event, let me know. We want to fill our CPHC calendar with lots of fun events!
Las Vegas Concert Tickets
In case you missed it, earlier this week I sent a newsflash that Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefers will be playing at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 15. If you are interested in purchasing tickets through the Las Vegas Phin City Parrot Head Club, they are $107/each. The deadline to let me know if you want tickets is next Wednesday, April 13.
If you are heading to Vegas, the Last Man Standing party will once again be taking place the day before the Jimmy Buffett show (Friday, October 14th) at Tommy Rockers Mojave Beach (4272 Dean Martin Dr, Las Vegas). More info on this great “Party with a Purpose” will be available soon at phincityphc.org.
Meeting of the Minds Update
We have a really big group registered for MOTM in Key West this year! So far we have about 40 Colorado Parrot Heads registered to attend this annual Parrot Head event. As promised, we’ll be creating a mailing list for all of you very soon. If you are still looking for a place to stay in Key West, or if you have a room or place to share, let us know so we can pass it along. If you haven’t signed up, it’s not too late. Opening Day
Finally, tomorrow is the Colorado Rockies Opening Day in Denver! if you’re downtown drinking and partying you just may run into Chris and me, we’ll be celebrating the start of the season downtown before heading south for Beer Friday. Maybe we’ll see you around?
