CPHC Weekly News
Happy Friday Parrot Heads! The weekend is finally (almost) here. Chris and I will be enjoying this Friday night at the Jack Johnson concert. If any fellow Parrot Heads will be there, watch for us! You can usually spot us in line for beer…
We hope you have big plans for your Friday as well. Here is what we have happening this week:
Club Meeting Tomorrow
I know it’s only mid-July, but tomorrow is the 3rd Saturday, and that means we’ll be phlocking together at Hopper’s for our monthly club meeting! Don’t let the early date fool ya – come and join us and enjoy a beautiful summer evening of drinks and music with your Parrot Head friends. Better yet, come make some new ones! As a reminder, all are welcome, so even if you aren’t a member, come join us for an evening and maybe we’ll convice you to join the club. So unless you’re one of the lucky members who will be partying with Jimmy Buffett at Wrigley Field this weekend, come out and hang with us!
Tomorrow’s raffle will once again be benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association and our upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s event. Bring some extra cash to support the cause and the CPHC team of walkers. More info on our walk can be found at: act.alz.org/goto/cphc.
Party With A Purpose tickets
As a reminder, we won’t have our regular August club meeting, because August 19 is the Party With a Purpose featuring John Frinzi, Aaron Scherz, plus loads of music, food, drinks, prizes and PHUN! It’s our biggest charity event of the year, and we hope you join us to make this year another success.
There are still tickets available for purchase at this Saturday’s club meeting – and this is your last chance to get them with cash. Lee will be selling them at the club meeting on Saturday, but after that, you can only get a ticket if you make arrangements to mail a check or use PayPal. This event always sells out, so we don’t expect to have tickets for sale at the door. Bottom line: if you’ve procrastinated buying your tickets, come to the meeting & purchase yours on Saturday!
We will also be accepting donations to the Raffle/Silent Auction if you still have something to give. All proceeds from the raffle and silent auction go to TLC Meals on Wheels.
Just for Phun: Brown Eyed Girl from Wrigley
As we mentioned, Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefers play Wrigley Field tomorrow. For those of us not lucky enough to be there, here’s a flashback from his last appearance at Wrigley, singing “Brown Eyed Girl”
That’s all the news for this week. Have a great weekend and stay cool!
