CPHC Weekly News

Happy Friday! We made it through the week! There are a lot of events happening tomorrow, so unless you’re one of the lucky ones who have already jetted off to Paris to see Jimmy next week, then I hope to see you!

Because we have lots going on, let’s get right to the news…

Tomorrow Morning is the Alzheimer’s Walk

It’s not too late to donate or participate in tomorrows Denver Walk to End Alzheimers. Full info about the event and how to donate to our team can be found at act.alz.org/goto/cphc.

For those of you walking with us tomorrow here is what you need to know:

Walk Location is Denver City Park, 2001 Colorado Blvd. Denver, CO 80205. The ceremony and walk begins tomorrow at 9:00 AM.

Check-in opens at 7:00 am. Please register as part of our Colorado Parrot Head Team either online or at the event. Though there is no fee to participate, registration helps them know how many came out in support of the event, so please sign up if you haven’t already.

Parking is available around the park and at the nearby Denver Zoo and Denver Museum of Nature and science. Parking is free, but it’s first-come, first-served. We encourage you to arrive early to secure parking.

CPHC pre-walk meet up: We will meet before the walk around 8:30 AM, near the starting line. There is usually a stage down there, and assuming there is, we’ll meet on the right side of the stage, nearest to the starting banner. Look for Parrot Heads! If you totally miss us, call me at 720-839-4572 and I’ll let you know where we are.

CPHC post-walk meet up: Walk at your own pace. After the walk as you finish, hang out by the finish line and cheer on your fellow walkers! Once all of the CPHC folks are back, we’ll head over for a team picture.

Post-walk brunch! We plan on sticking with our tradition by heading over to the Irish Snug after the walk. Join us for a post-walk brunch and mimosas! The Irish Snug is at 1201 E Colfax Ave #100, Denver CO 80218. We don’t make a reservation, but we’ve never had issues getting in here before. Look for us on the patio, unless it’s full.. or inside the bar.

Don’t forget, to show your Parrot Head pride! We would love to see some tropical flair in your walk-day clothes. Let’s add a little party to the very important purpose of our walk!

Tomorrow Evening is the September Club Meeting

Our September club meeting is tomorrow night at 6pm at Hoppers Sports Grill (1-70 Frontage Road and Kipling, Wheat Ridge). Join us for a night of phun with your Parrot Head friends! We’ll have music, raffle, and all the normal shenanigans. As an FYI, Chris will be arriving late, so I may need help with the raffle. If you’re interested in helping me out, see me when you arrive.

Remember, you don’t have to be a member to join us for a meeting. Come say hi and see what our club is all about!

Tomorrow Evening Copper Skye will be in Colorado Springs

Roger and Vicki Sams are hosting a house concert at their home in Colorado Springs tomorrow night. This is the perfect opportunity for those of your Parrot Heads who live down south to phlock together, since you don’t often make it to the club meetings! Admission is $20 for this private show. Contact Roger & Vicki for more details or to RSVP.

Wow, that is one busy Saturday! Whatever you choose to do tomorrow, I hope you make it PHUN.

Then on Sunday we can all rest.. and watch the Broncos!

Fins up!
