Hello Parrot Heads, and TGIF. It’s an extra-special Friday because for many of us, this is a 3-day weekend! We hope you enjoy this last holiday of summer by getting out and having some serious summer fun this weekend! Pete’s hosting his annual Labor Day Party, so be sure you head on over if you’re looking for a great way to celebrate the holiday.
LABOR DAY PARTY INFO
Party at Pete’s This Saturday, September 1
It’s that time of year again… time for the fun, annual Labor Day Party at Pete’s Place! You know the place… it’s where we build our St. Patrick’s Day float each year. Yeah, there! And just like the float builds, all Parrot Heads are welcome to join in the PHun! This party is always a great time so make plans to be there!
Where: Pete Grosskreuz’s house (see your emailed newsletter for the full address)
When: Tomorrow, Saturday, September 1. The fun starts at 1:00 PM and will last until 10:00 PM or so.
Entertainment: There will be 2 bands performing in Pete’s backyard: Three Sheets to the Wind and the Groovetime Sitters.
What to Bring: Pete will be roasting a pig, so please bring a dish (side, entree or dessert) to share and enjoy the yummy potluck! Bring your own beverage of choice. You may also want to bring a camp chair. This is an outdoor rain-or-shine event, so plan accordingly (light jackets, sunscreen, etc.)
What Not to Bring: Pete lives on a busy street and the yard will be open all day. Therefore, please leave your pets at home.
Logistics: Parking can be found adjacent to Pete’s place at the shop or the restaurant next door. Additionally, the party takes place in the yard so the house will be locked. There will be a port-a-potty on site for when nature calls.
Again, this annual party is lots of fun, so don’t miss out! Stop by and spend some time with your Parrot Head friends, or making some new ones! We hope to see you there!

Beer Friday at Janette’s: Friday, September 7
You know what we haven’t had in a while? A BEER FRIDAY! Fortunately, Janette Lawler will be hosting a Beer Friday at her house next Friday, September 7. Save the date and make plans to be there!
What’s a Beer Friday, you ask? It’s when one of our members hosts an informal Happy Hour at their home, and all CPHC members are invited! Everyone is asked to bring their beverage of choice and a side dish or snack to share (if desired). It’s a really fantastic way to get to better know your fellow Parrot Head members in a more relaxed setting. We encourage all members, new and old, to try and swing by!

Walk to End Alzheimer’s Update
WOW! Parrot Heads, we have already raised over $1100 towards our Walk to End Alzheimers next month! A big THANK YOU to all of you who have been raising funds, and to those of you who have given so generously. As you know, not only is this an official PHiP charity, but this cause is close to my heart. So again, thank you!
It’s not too late to participate by signing up to join the walk, or by making a donation. The walk takes place at Denver City Park on Saturday, September 15 at 9:00 AM. All members, family and friends are welcome to join the Colorado Parrot Head Club team as we walk to raise awareness and money towards ending this disease.
