St. Patrick’s Day Parade Information!
It’s MEETING WEEK!!!
When: Tomorrow night, February 17th, 5 – 7pm
Where: Hopper’s Sports Bar in Wheat Ridge.
We will be handing out wristbands to walk with our float in the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade. As always, you must be a member to walk with us. If you haven’t already done so, please renew your membership. (See renewal information below.)
We will have a raffle this month for the Golden Angel Fund at the Golden Retriever Rescue the Rockies (GRRR).
Please help us out by bringing a raffle item.
The Golden Angel Fund has been established to help Golden Retrievers in need of extra medical care. Some Goldens require special medications or surgeries for conditions such a cancer, hip dysplasia, allergies, heartworm, knee surgeries, eye surgeries, infections, etc.
Without medical help many of them will not be likely candidates for adoption; however, we can’t say no to these special Goldens who need extra care. Sometimes extraordinary medical circumstances bring these Goldens to us, and with the Golden Angel Fund we can help more of them find a quality, pain-free life in a new and loving home. St Patrick’s Day Float Information:
Once again, we are registered for the Denver St Patrick’s Day Parade!
When: Saturday, March 16, 2024
Step-off will be 9:30am – we’ll start meeting at the float about 7:30am in the Parking Lot of Coors Field. More details will follow.
As always, you must be a member to walk with us in the parade. We will hand out 2 wristbands for a single membership and 4 wristbands for a family membership. You can pickup your wrist bands at the meeting tomorrow evening, or at the float build.
The parade theme this year is “We Are One” or “Mar a Cheile sinn” – at the heart of St. Patrick’s Day is unity and inclusion. We’ll do our best to include that along with a tribute to Jimmy Buffett!! Duffy’s Crane Service will be providing the 53′ trailer again. We will have our friends, the “Groove Time Sitters” playing live on the float and the buildings on the float will be some of Jimmy’s favorite hangouts in Key West.
We will have bubble machines on the float. Bubble’s Up! We’ll be passing out bubbles to the kiddos and leis to the adults, in honor of Jimmy. Please help us out by purchasing small containers of bubbles that we can hand out to the kids, as well as leis that we can hand out to the adults. Amazon or The Oriental Trading Company are great places to get bubbles and leis in bulk. We will have ‘disguised’ containers on the float to hold the bubbles so you won’t have to carry heavy bags of bubbles, and you can restock as needed. Float Build: We have the buildings left over from last year, so we will just need to repaint and redecorate them to look like Jimmy’s favorite hangouts in Key West. Since most of the hard work was done last year, we’ll only have a float build the weekend before. Please join us to help us build the float at Pete’s house:

Float Build Days: Please bring your own drinks; snacks to share; sunscreen; a chair for break time; and remember to wear old clothes to paint in!
Special News: “Great Day Colorado” on Channel 2 is going to feature us during the parade. We will also be on their show a few days before the parade. They want to feature the Colorado Parrothead Club and talk about all of our charities, our Party with a Purpose and our Tribute to Jimmy!
Get your BEST Parrothead attire ready for our parade so we can show the people of Denver a great tribute to our Captain!!

We need sponsors for our float. If you have a business, and would like to donate some money toward our float, we will hang your company banner on the float to advertise your business. Talk to Pete for details!
We are STILL working on a Colorado Parrothead Club License Plate! Robin has submitted the paperwork to the DMV, once it is approved, we will start collecting signatures.
We will need 3000 signatures to get this done. We’ll be hitting all of you up for your signatures for the petition as soon as the paperwork has been submitted.
