Hello and Happy New Year!!

Wow! Happy 2020.. it does sound odd… 2020. It’s going to be hard to get used to writing that date on things! Here’s to a wonderful new year!!

December Events

Thank you to all who came to the December meeting!

What a wonderful turnout we had! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such a great meeting in December! We raised almost $1200 for the Second Wind Fund, for youth suicide prevention. We also raised about $750 when we passed the hat, for our friend Mark.. to help him with the hospital bills they are incurring. Mark was overwhelmed when we gave him the money. His goal is to have Keira walk into a Parrot Head meeting on her own some day and say thank you. She has a LONG way to go, but maybe some day everyone will get to meet her.

Thank you to everyone who brought raffle prizes. What a most excellent raffle we had! The Ornament exchange and ugly sweater contest were a lot of fun as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

January Events

Colorado Avalanche Game – January 2

We still have 2 tickets available if anyone wants to join us. Please contact Pete if you are interested. The tickets are $78 each. They are in the lower level, 2 attack zones and the game is against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the St Louis Blues!

For those who bought tickets, we will be sending your tickets out to your email address through our Ticket Master account. Please watch for the tickets to come through. The Avalanche are giving us each a free player t-shirt. They are randomly handed out, so you don’t get to pick which player you want, and all the shirts are an XL. Sorry if that doesn’t work for you.. but they do make great gifts if you can’t use the one you get.

To get your free t-shirt, please go behind section 120 before the start of the game and show them your ticket. We get the shirts as part of our group package.

Escape to Margaritaville – This Sunday!! January 5

Showtime: JAN 5, 2020 at 2:00PM

Ticket Sales are closed now.

**** Please note the brunch is at the Renaissance Hotel (the prior newsletters were incorrect. I apologize for that)

We are partnering with the Renaissance Hotel, Denver, for a reception/brunch and Mimosas before the show!!
Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center Hotel located at
918 17th St, Denver.
Brunch starts at 10am.

The hotel’s free valet parking is open to our group, so we can park at the Renaissance Hotel and walk to the play. It’s about a 5 minute walk and will be much easier than trying to park in the DCPA parking lot.

They are also offering us rooms for Saturday and/or Sunday nights at a FANTASTIC rate of $99 per night. The $99 rate is available on Saturday, Sunday or both this weekend (Jan 4 and 5).

You don’t have to have tickets to the play, you can still get the $99 room rate and join us for the brunch before the show.

Please contact Karen or Robin if you’d like to join us for the brunch before the show.
Karen has the remaining tickets. If you haven’t gotten yours, please contact Karen or Robin (by replying to this email) and arrange picking up your tickets. It is not our responsibility to get your tickets to you. We had a few problems with distribution of Rockies tickets, so please make arrangements to pick up your own tickets.

Club T-shirts!!

We still have plenty of t-shirts for our 25th Anniversary!!! We have quite an assortment of colors (Pink, as shown below, Black, Butter Yellow, Caribbean Blue, Steel Gray, Periwinkle, Salmon and Sea Foam Green). We have a wide variety of sizes, and both men’s and lady’s cut shirts (lady’s cut are only available in pink).

The front has the original Parrot Head logo on it, and the back has a picture on it provided by Dixie LaHood. The pictures here don’t do it justice. They are awesome!! We’ll have them at all the meetings. If you can’t attend a meeting and would like one… please contact Robin or Pete to arrange getting your cool new club shirt! The cost is $30 each. (if you can’t make it to a meeting to pick one up, drop a check in the mail to us and please add $5 per shirt for shipping.)

The t-shirts are stored at Pete’s house, so give Pete a call if you want to stop by and pick up a shirt or 2, plus we will have them at all the club meetings.

Misc. Events

Jeff Dunham is coming to the 1ST BANK Center (Broomfield Events Center) on April 4.

Several in our group are interested in going, so we checked into group tickets. They don’t really have a group ticket sales up there, and we were not able to get a large group of tickets, but we did manage to get a few. We have a very limited number, so we will sell them on a first come first serve basis. The cost is $75 each. Sorry we can’t accommodate everyone, but there are still tickets for sale, so if you’d like to go, and can’t fit into our limited number, please buy some tickets online. It will be a very fun night. “Jeffafa” is a SUPER funny!

Contact Robin if you’d like to buy tickets. (by replying to this email)
