CPHC Weekly News
Sorry for the lack of CPHC emails lately. Robin and I left for vacation 2 days after the St Patrick’s Day parade. We jumped on a giant sail boat and sailed around the Caribbean for a while. Now that we are back.. the emails will start again. This week… there is some exciting news!
I’m sure most of you already know, but the Colorado Parrot Head Club took First Place in the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade, non-commercial float. Congratulations to the Colorado Parrot Head Club for once again showing our Parrot Head spirit! Thank you to all who came out to help, and a special thanks to those who came out to help on the week days, since the first build weekend had a high temperature of 5 degrees F and was a bust for float building. We have a fantastic team!
House Concert this Friday!!
We have the special privilege this Friday night to have a house concert by one of the original Trop Rock bands.. Jerry Diaz and Hannah’s Reef! I’m sure most of you know who Jerry is, so this is a real treat that he is passing through Denver and has agreed to do a house concert. If the weather is nice.. and as of this moment, it looks like it will be, the concert will be outdoors in my yard. If it is raining, snowing or otherwise too cold to have outdoors, the concert will be at Robin Reed’s house. Stay tuned for notice on Friday if that should happen. For now.. plan on “Party at Pete’s!!” This is an event you won’t want to miss!
Admission: $20 cash at the door (to cover the cost of the band)
Where: Pete’s house; see your email for the full address. (same as the float build, but come in the front gate this time) Park at the little restaurant next door where we park for the float builds, but walk down to the front gate at the driveway.
When: 7 – 10 pm Friday, April 5, 2019
What to bring: A chair, your own beverages, warm clothes or a blanket to cover up with, because we all know Colorado weather gets cold when the sun goes down in the Spring. (We will provide light snacks and a dessert or 2)
Another exciting concert: Jerry Diaz and Hannah’s Reef will be performing at the Spring Splash event at Winter Park on Saturday, April 6 from 3-5pm. The show is open to the public and is free, so head on up to Winter Park to see Jerry and his band again on Saturday!
