Family Promise of Greater Denver

The mission of Family Promise of Greater is to form relationships with families at risk of or experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, meals, and a spectrum of supportive services as they obtain permanent stability. They believe families should stay together, and not be separated during one of the most difficult times of their lives. They mobilize more than 1000 dedicated volunteers who make a tremendous difference in families’ lives and in their communities. The volunteers at Family Promise don’t stop at shelter, meals and supportive services. They’ve helped in homeless prevention, health care, life skills and more. Their vision is to end homelessness forever, one family at a time.
Chase Away K9 Cancer

Chase Away K9 Cancer – Founded in 2006 by Cera Reusser, Chase Away K9 Cancer brings together people and dogs from all walks of life to combat and eventually defeat this horrible disease. They are a grassroots effort with volunteers from all across the country where donations and net proceeds from merchandise fund canine cancer studies and help to raise K9 cancer awareness. Chase Away K9 Cancer is a fund held within the National Canine Cancer Foundation which is the Parent non-profit 501c3.
Since its inception, these efforts have raised over a million dollars and have helped to fund 21 studies to date with 3 studies being funded currently. Much of their support comes one dollar at a time, so every donation makes a difference. Chase Away K9 Cancer also aims to build a community where people can find comfort and understanding, where no one will say “it’s just a dog” and where they honor the efforts of volunteers and the dogs that they love. Their ultimate goal is to see the day where no one will lose a beloved best friend to cancer.
Like many worthwhile organizations, the Chase Away K9 Cancer campaign find its beginnings at the end of a great love and loss. And, like the Phoenix rising from the depths of sorrow, works to provide new hope and promise for many, now and in the future. We need silent auction items and raffle baskets! Please let us know if you have something you can donate for the auction or can help us out by bringing a raffle basket! Food:The club will provide the meat both days, so bring a side dish or desert to share.
Saturday, the club will provide smoked brisket and chicken.
Sunday, the club will provide a taco bar and some of the accoutrements (ground beef and chicken, sour cream, cheese and the taco shells). So, please bring a dish to share for our taco bar.
As always, bring your own chair and an “easy up”/shade canopy if you have them. Bring your own beverages of choice, sunscreen, bug spray for evenings, jackets, etc…whatever you think you’ll need for a day and evening in the Great Colorado Outdoors!
