We aren’t sure if there will be a meeting this month or not. If our beloved Avalanche make it past Edmonton, there may be a Stanley Cup Playoff game on the night the meeting is scheduled for.  If the weather is nice, we can have our meeting outdoors, since the inside will be full of people watching the Avs game.  Stay tuned for more information as we get closer.

GO AVALANCHE!!!  Our charity for the month will be the same from last month, since we didn’t have a meeting.  It will be the Melanoma Research Foundation.  We will get the donations to the team – Becky’s Buddies – for the 2022 Miles for Melanoma Denver walk, which is in June.

If we do have a meeting, as always, please help us out with raffle items.

Don’t forget… Get your skin checked!!  *******************************************************************

We are thrilled and very fortunate to have him come out for an evening.  Hope to see everyone there!

A live performance by James “Sunny Jim” White calls up sea breezes, palm trees. sandy beaches and good tropical vibes. Audiences often end up dancing in conga lines and moving to the up-tempo rhythms of his original music, a blend of influences that range from the Caribbean to California, by way of Texas. White, was born in San Antonio, raised in California, and then spent 12 years in the Cayman Islands. In the Caribbean, he perfected his solo show featuring guitar, vocals and backup tracs. He added steel drum and soaked up the culture of the West Indies, infusing his songwriting with the influences of Caribbean masters. It was in Cayman that he picked up the nickname “Sunny Jim.”

Sunny Jim has published 11 CDs, 9 studio recordings and 2 live performances. They include; Postcards from Seven Mile Beach, Life in the Laidback Lane, Sandbar Serenade, Tropical Trader,  Escape Artist, Sky Sand Water Moon, Tropicool, KISS, Flotsam and Jetsam, Rum Shoes and It’s Still Summer Somewhere.

For those who aren’t familiar with Erica, she is a force to be reckoned with in the Trop Rock and Country Music worlds.

Country Music Singer/Songwriter and Nashville Recording Artist Erica Sunshine Lee has earned the reputation of “Hardest Working Woman in Country Music” due to her uncompromising work ethic, established during her up-bringing in northeast Georgia. Musically, Erica’s new album “Buried Treasure” is reminiscent of a female Jimmy Buffett that sweeps you away with a feel-good pop-country vibe and will have you singing along, wishing you were sipping a mojito in paradise.  With her captivating songs and a truly engaging personality, Erica travels the world, gaining new fans in every city, state and country she plays in. She draws crowds in with her unfiltered tunes such as “Chunky Dunk”, “Karma,” “Taking The High Road”, and “Drinking and Praying.

Sunshine has scored 2 top 80 singles, 3 top 10 singles in Europe, in the US, and 1 top 20 single in Australia.“This is the kind of authentic music country DJ’s have been asking for,” says Nashville’s Al Brock. DJ’s all across Europe and the states are raving about Sunshine’s  “infectious and catchy hooks. This songbird holds nothing back, and brings a gallop of energy with her true country roots shining. She also puts her heart and soul in each ballad.”

This year’s charities will be My Fairy Dawg Mother and The Red Guitar Campaign.

My Fairy Dawg Mother – Making Rescue Dawg’s dreams come true.
MFDM is a Foster based dog rescue.  They
rescue abused and neglected dawgs from around the nation. MDFM is a non-profit organization that strives to make a difference, one dawg at a time. The generosity of the Colorado Parrotheads has made a huge impact for this rescue.  For more information go to:

The Red Guitar Campaign – This is a charity started by Thom Shepherd and Coley McCabe Shepherd.  The goal of this charity is to provide a red guitar to each of the Fisher Houses around the world.

The idea for donating guitars happened when Thom and Coley visited the Fisher House in Honolulu in 2017.

Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veteran families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital. These homes are located at military and VA medical centers around the world. Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room, and an inviting living room.

On Thom and Coley’s visit to the Fisher House, the commander of the local base went to meet them, and asked them to perform Thom’s hit song “Riding with Private Malone.” Unfortunately, they were without a guitar that day as they were on their way to the beach.

Thom and Coley looked at each other and said “Every Fisher House should have a guitar.”  It will be a huge honor for the Colorado Parrothead Club to provide a couple of guitars for this wonderful charity.   For more information go to:
