Hello and Happy Friday!
Hello Parrot Heads! TGIF!! I think Spring is finally here! Fingers crossed!!
Our Colorado Avalanche are tied in the series against the Sharks in the second round of the Western Conference, NHL playoffs…Go Avs!! Our Nuggets are tied 1-1 with the Trailblazers in the Western Conference NBA playoffs. They play game 3 tonight in Portland. Go Nuggets!!
Sunday is Cinco de Mayo.. so enjoy some Margaritas on Sunday and help celebrate the day to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862. There won’t be an official Parrot Head gathering as originally planned… Pete has to work and Robin will be out of town for work, so no official event. Have fun anyway and enjoy some good Mexican Food and Margaritas with friends!
Thanks to all who showed up last Friday night at La Loma for our Monthly “Margaritas around Denver” event! It was a lot of fun, and thanks to Karen Bell for coordinating it all! Stay tuned for the details for next month!
The Colorado Rockies are having “Margaritaville Night at the Rockies” again this year. The sign-up and ticket purchase is now closed. We had a nice amount of people sign up, and we also had 26 people sign up from the Northern Colorado Parrot Head Club! We thought it would be fun to meet some fellow Parrot Heads and they were thrilled we invited them. July 13, we’ll “Escape to Coors Field” for a fun-filled, “beachy” day, featuring a pregame rooftop performance by a live tribute band! Each ticket purchased includes a Rockies Margaritaville-themed shirt. Tickets and T-shirts have been ordered!

Mark your calendars for a fun fundraiser for the DAWGS! On Saturday, June 8… the Colorado Parrot Head Club will be helping with a fundraiser for the My Fairy Dawg Mother, dog rescue. The event will be held at Someplace Else Brewery in Arvada (6425 W 52nd Ave #6, Arvada, CO 80002). There will be a new beer on tap, called “Dixie’s Drool” named after Dixie the Bloodhound. I am told no bloodhounds were harmed in making this new beer. There will be lots of raffle prizes, silent auction items, and a fun pint glass you can purchase to commemorate the event. Save the date and watch for more information to come!
Longtime Parrot Head, Steve Phillips is retiring soon. (Lucky guy!!) He and Allison have invited all of the Parrot Heads to his retirement party at their home in Westminster. The party will be on 19-July from 5:00 until ??

It’s almost time for Party with a Purpose (a.k.a Parrot Head 5280 Fest)!!

Contact Pete for your ticket this year… a hot pink wrist band!! This wrist band is your ticket to the party this year, and will be required to enter. Pete has built a very nice permanent stage in his yard!! We have a great line-up in store so the tickets will be $50 this year. We have Thom Shepherd and Coley McCabe with their entire band! We have Mike Nash and the new Southern Drawl Band; and Stoney Gable!! You won’t want to miss this!! It will be phun philled day!! Contact Pete, Robin or Karen for tickets.
I know $50 is a lot more than prior years, but we have some top notch entertainment lined up for a full day of music! I’ve heard some concerns about the cost this year, but it’s really just giving up 1 Starbucks a week.
We’ve got some great donations this year for our silent auction, but as always, we can use all the donations we can get for the silent auction and raffle prizes at the event. Please contact Karen Bell or Robin Reed to discuss, if you’d like to help us out.
