Club Meeting Week!!!
This Saturday, October 16, 6pm – Hopper’s Sports Bar – Wheat Ridge
This month’s raffle will be for the Feline Rescue of the Rockies. As always, please help us out by bringing an item or 2 for our raffle. Let’s make this a good night for the homeless kitties!
Also, we will be collecting for the Christmas shop and Operation North Pole for the Tennyson Center, at the meeting on Saturday. They need everything by December 3rd, so we need to start our collection now!
See details below!

In case you missed it in the last newsletter –
We have had little to no interest in the Denver Halloween parade, so we will not be participating this year.
*******************************************************************
The November charity will be “Wreaths Across America,” to provide wreaths for the graves at Ft Logan National Cemetery.
*******************************************************************
The December charity will be a little different this year.
In the past, the Colorado Parrothead Club has been an instrumental part of providing daily necessities like toiletries, blankets, hats and gloves, to the kids in need at the Tennyson Center for Children. The Tennyson Center has had to permanently close the residential center. So, this year, we will be collecting toys for their “Operation North Pole” and their “gift shop.”
We will be collecting new toys, unwrapped, for ages 1 – 16, for both girls and boys. We’ll collect these at the October and November meetings. They need everything by December 3rd!
We will also be collecting items for the Center’s “gift shop.” All of the kids at Tennyson Center are in Foster Care, so the Center sets up a gift shop where the kids can buy items for their loved ones. Please help us out by bringing items the kids can buy for their foster parents, parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. (items like Christmas ornaments, fun key chains, coffee cups, fun ink pens, picture frames, small toys for the sibling gifts, etc). All items must be new, and unwrapped so the kids can buy them and wrap the items themselves.

Misc. Housekeeping:
Now is a great time to update your mailing address, email addresses and phone numbers with the club, if you have moved within the past few years, please send me your current information, so I can update the roster. The CDs that came out with the Red Rocks Concert tickets showed we have a lot of old and incorrect information.

Club T-shirts!!
We got in a new shipment of Club T-shirts, and folks from the other Parrothead Clubs went on a “feeding frenzy” buying them! We don’t have many left, but if anyone wants a club t-shirt, please let me know, cost $35 each.
In case you’ve forgotten what they look like:
$5 from each shirt sale goes to “Vested Interest in K-9s, Inc.” This is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide bullet and stab-protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies around the country.
Our t-shirt money from Red Rocks week, raised enough to buy a vest for the new K-9, named Hulk, at the Arvada Police Department. Each vest costs $1000. The management and K-9 officers at the Arvada PD were very appreciative of the Colorado Parrothead Club. They had a nice ceremony for us to present the check. Pictures to come!
