Hi everyone and happy Thursday! I hope you are staying warm out there. The cold weather has finally arrived, with a vengeance! Hopefully we’ll be back to some sunny, warm days sometime soon. Until then, stay inside and have some tequila… it always works to keep me warm!

Here’s our CPHC news for this week:

Membership Renewals

It’s that time of year: Renewal Time!  Now is the time for all members to renew your membership for 2017! The quickest, easiest way to renew this year is online on our website at: www.colophc.org/renew. Just fill out a little bit of info, and you’ll be taken to our PayPal page where you can pay online with a credit or debit card. Otherwise, you can always renew at our club meetings, or you can mail us your renewal dues. All of the details is on our website renewal page (again: www.colophc.org/renew/)  As a reminder, you save $5 by renewing before January 31st, so don’t let your membership lapse! Renewal rates are $30 for individuals and $40 for families. Don’t delay, renew today.

Social Hour Next Wednesday

It’s about time we get together for a beer, so how about next week at Lone Tree Brewing? Chris and I will be at Lone Tree Brewing (8200 Park Meadows Dr #8222, Lone Tree) on Wednesday, December 14th, anytime after 5:30 PM. We would love to have you join us for a pint (or two) of beer! If you ordered a Red Rocks shirt from me during the 2nd round of shirt sales after the concert, I will have them for you to pay/pickup… so come and get them! I may even have a few extra CPHC shirts and other swag to sell. They make nice Christmas gifts! Since you won’t have me at the club meeting this month, come join me for a beer & share a holiday toast!

SafeHouse Denver

Once again this year we are sponsoring a family through SafeHouse Denver, and the club is purchasing gifts to ensure they all have a Merry Christmas. We could still use help shopping for two family members. I’ll be delivering the gifts to SafeHouse on Saturday 12/17, I need a volunteer or two that can get gifts to me by next week (ideally, you can drop the gifts off Wednesday at Lone Tree Brewing). If you’re already going to be shopping this weekend and don’t mind picking up a few extra items for a family in need, let me know. Just email me and I’ll assign you one of the two kids and give you all the info you need to do some shopping for them.

December Meeting Reminders

The December meeting is just over a week away, so don’t forget to do your shopping. As a reminder we are collecting canned food for Meals on Wheels and unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots this month, should you choose to donate. However, we also would love to have everyone bring a wrapped Parrot Head gift for our charity raffle this month!  Just like we’ve done the past few years, we will have our normal raffle, but for this December raffle the winners will get to pick a wrapped present from the raffle table. If you bring a gift, you get an extra ticket to help increase your chances of winning. It’s a great time, and all proceeds go to charity. It’s our Parrot Head way of celebrating Jimmy Buffett’s birthday month (oh yeah, and the holidays too… but mostly Jimmy!) Make sure you bring a wrapped raffle gift to play along. This month Dave and Lynne Center will be hosting the meeting, so you’re sure to have a great time!!

That’s all for today. Have a great weekend. Stay warm!

Fins up!
