CPHC Weekly News

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!

Unless you’re at MOTM, there are no official Parrot Head events this weekend. If you are at MOTM, why are you reading this email? Put your phone down and go have a margarita somewhere! You have to enjoy every minute for those of us who didn’t get to go this year, so get on it!

For the rest of us, no official events this weekend, but here’s a quick look at what’s coming soon:

Coming Soon: Membership Renewal!

Yep, it’s that time of year again… time to start thinking about renewing your club membership for 2018! As a reminder, our memberships are good for a calendar year. Next week I’ll kick off the renewal for 2018 so you have plenty of time to get signed up for another year of Parrot Head phun!

Also Coming Soon: Holiday Giving Season!

The holidays are just around the corner, and this is the time of year that the CPHC likes to give back to organizations in the community who need a hand. We’ve already reached out to Safehouse Denver to ask about adopting a family again for the holidays, so once we get the details we will be looking for volunteers who want to help shop for gifts, meals, or whatever it ends up that the need.

Speaking of meals, all that food and peanut butter we’ve been collecting will be delivered this month when they have the 9Cares Colorado Shares food drive. When you’re at the grocery store, consider picking up a few extra jars of peanut butter, or some other non-perishable foods for our drive. More details will come about how you can turn in your last-minute food donations, and when you can join us to make the donation. During last year’s drop-off we made it on TV, and even better, we got to meet my favorite meteorologist, Belen De Leon. You don’t want to miss out this year! It looks like the drive will be on Saturday, November 18, but please stay tuned for more details.

Unofficial Event – December 2nd: Join us at the Santa Pub Crawl

Join me and some of your fellow Parrot Heads on Saturday, December 2nd as we participate in the 16th Annual Denver Santa Claus Pub Crawl. What’s that, you ask? It’s the annual opportunity for you to dress like the big guy himself, Santa Claus (or Mrs. Claus, or an elf, or a reindeer.. you get the idea) and take over the pubs of downtown Denver! There are drinks, giveaways, and it’s a lot of fun.

I’m really sorry I didn’t get the word out on this sooner since the early-bird ticket pricing has already ended. The cost to sign up now is $44, and includes a free drink at each bar (5 bars total) a ticket for their prize drawings, and entry into their after-party. Plus proceeds go to support local children’s charities. This isn’t an official club event, but it sure is a lot of PHUN! I hope to see some of you there.

Thanks to all who participated in the Halloween Parade!

I wanted to send a big THANK YOU to everyone who dressed up and came out to participate in the 1st Annual Broadway Halloween Parade. It was a cool and windy night, but it didn’t feel that way when the parade kicked off down Broadway! I know I had a great time, and the feedback I’ve gotten from all of you has been really positive as well. I’m happy it was such fun! A special, REALLY BIG thank you goes out to Pete, Robin, John, Deb, and all of you who pitched in to help make our float so awesome.

If you missed out, you missed a good time. However, it sounds like they want to do this parade again next year, and based on how much fun it was, if they do we’ll be certain to be there!

Well, that’s all the news and updates I have for today. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Fins up!

Jeff
