TGIF! I hope you all had a fun Independence Day! I also hope you’re finding ways to keep your cool in this hot and sticky weather. I find that frozen concoctions work really well. I’m not sure if they cool me down, or if the booze in the blender just makes me forget it’s so hot out… but either way, it works!
There are no club activities this week, but here is a look ahead at some of the phun events we have coming up later this month and beyond:
Farwell Happy Hour for Glenn and Marilyn
We have some bittersweet news: Long time CPHC members Glenn and Marilyn Schwoegler are officially trading in the Colorado mountains for the sandy beaches of Florida. We are sad to see them leave, but are so excited for them as they set the course for new adventures!
Join Glenn and Marilyn at Lone Tree Brewing Company on Friday, July 28 as they say farwell. We’ll send them off in CPHC style — over many beers! Come raise some pints for our Parrot Head friends and make it a night of beers, not tears, as we wish them well on their migration south. Hope to see you there!
PWAP Tickets Are Going Fast…
The Party With a Purpose is getting close… do you have your tickets? If not, stop waiting or you may just miss out. Reach out to Lee Grodsky now if you want to secure a seat for this August 19 party. Tickets are $25/each and they include a day of fun in the sun, with great music, wonderful BBQ, and the chance to win some really, really awesome stuff in the charity raffle and silent auction. Let me know if you need more info, have questions, or if you need Lee’s info to get your tickets.
Silent Auction Donations
We are still taking donations for silent auction and raffle items for the Party With A Purpose. If you have products or gift certificates you would like to donate, we’d love to hear from you. If you have a donation, please let me know, or bring it to the club meeting on July 15. Rememer, ALL proceeds from the raffle and silent auction go directly to TLC Meals on Wheels.
Join us in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Don’t forget, we are looking for Parrot Heads to sign up and walk with us in the Denver Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, September, 16. There is no cost to join the team or to participate in the walk, though there are giveaways for participants who raise $100 or more. Right now our team is looking pretty small, so if you are thinking of joining us – go sign up! The more the merrier, and your support goes to an important cause.
