TGIF! I’m late again with the newsletter, but butter late than never, right? Besides, a Friday newsletter sounds like a good enough reason to stop working. So check out the news below, and then go ahead & just start the weekend! Have a cold one at happy hour for me! Here’s the news:
Ticket & T-Shirt Pickup Monday 10/3
We just got the Red Rocks shirts in so we want to plan a few more pick up social hours for everyone to get their stuff. Not only do we have Red Rocks shirts for those who pre-ordered, but we still have Red Rocks concert tickets, Party With A Purpose shirts and CPHC flags that need to be picked up. If you have pre-ordered these items, please come & get them on Monday 10/3, 6pm-8pm, at Lone Tree Brewing. We’re doing another pickup at Lone Tree Brewing because they were so accommodating last time. Plus they are easy to get to (just off C470 at 8200 Park Meadows Dr #8222, Lone Tree). Best of all they are huge, with plenty of space even on a night that most places will be focused on Monday Night Football. We hope to see you stop by!
If you can’t make this pickup:
We will plan ONE more pickup for the following week on Tuesday, October 11. The location is TBD, but we’ll probably head further north for the final pre-concert pickup. Stay tuned for more info in next week’s newsletter.
If you can’t make either pickup:
Chris and I have a crazy schedule the next two weeks, so it’s not likely we can fit another pickup date between now & the concert. The best bet would be to see if someone could pick your stuff up for you. If you send a family member or friend, just let us know in advance that we can release your tickets and/or merchandise to them. If you want to pre-pay for your merchandise let me know and I can send you a link to pay online.
If you still need your concert tickets & cannot get at one of our two upcoming pickups, let me know and we can mail them to you. Just let us know ASAP. We want to get these in your hands before the day of the show (unless you’ve made other arrangements with us).
As for t-shirts and other merchandise, if you don’t get them before Red Rocks we will have them at the tailgate. If we somehow miss you there, we’ll have them at the October meeting (just keep in mind that’s after the Red Rocks show). If those options don’t work, reply to me know so we can try to find a way to get you your stuff.
In other news…
Beer Friday @ Janette’s: Friday 10/7
It’s about time for another Beer Friday, don’t ya think!? Janette Lawler has decided to throw one last Beer Friday before the chance of snow comes to town! Join Janette at her home next Friday, October 7, beginning at 4pm. Bring a beverage of your choice, a side dish to share (if you want) and any fall vegetables you may want to trade (if your garden is overflowing with zucchini, squash, tomatoes, etc.) Janette will have chili in the crock pot, which goes perfect with beer on a cool autumn night! It’s going to be a good time!
Meeting Of The Minds
We have 60 Colorado Parrot Heads attending Meeting of the Minds in Key West this year! That’s a huge krewe! For those of you attending, we have set up a CPHC MOTM Facebook Group to help you share tips, event meetups, available rooms, and more. If you are part of our MOTM group and missed the Facebook group invite, please email me back & let me know. This group is just for MOTM attendees, so if you’ll be there, join the online conversation!
We need Colorado items for our MOTM basket! If you have any Colorado themed items you’d like to donate for the basket we’re making for the MOTM charity raffle, please let me know! You can bring you donations to any ticket pickup, or our October meeting. Thanks!!
Red Rocks Tailgating Reminder
Just a reminder in case you missed it last week. If you want to join the phlock for tailgating at the Jimmy Buffett Red Rocks show, you can find all our details online at
https://coloradoparrotheadclub.org/tailgating/. It’s less than 2 weeks away, so start stocking up on your grass skirts and coconut bras!
PB & Canned Food Drive Update
At last month’s meeting you already know that we raised a lot of cash to help Det. Dan Brite of the Douglas County Police Department. Well, I wanted to let you know that you also did a great job in our food drive last month, too! At last month’s meeting alone we collected 65 pounds of peanut butter and 10 pounds of canned goods! That puts our total for the year at 150 pounds of PB and 50 pounds of canned food, and 16 pounds of pop tops! Remember to keep on bringing your donations each month, the 9News Food Drive is coming up soon! Thanks to everyone for donating. Thanks Mike and Jane for collecting the donations and keeping tally of what we’ve accomplished. You’re all amazing!
Mark your calendars for Saturday morning November 12, when we will be delivering all our food donations to the 9News Food Drive. Stay tuned for more details to join us in the drop off.
That’s it for today. Have a great weekend!
