CPHC Weekly News
Aloha Parrot Heads, and Happy National Beer Lovers Day! You may not believe this, but I enjoy a beer or two from time to time, so for that reason, I’m going to try to keep things brief so we can all get out there and celebrate with a pint. After all, it makes you a jolly good fellow!
Speaking of beer, tonight is Beer Friday at Janette Lawler’s house! If you’re nearby, grab a sixer and head on over to Janette’s to celebrate the end of the week and National Beer Lovers’ Day! All Parrot Heads are welcome! Bring a snack to share, if you wish.
FINAL CALL FOR MOTM
Thinking about attending the Meeting of the Minds in Key West?
If you’re thinking of attending the annual Parrot Head convention (AKA Party!) in Key West this year, then it’s time to stop thinking and get moving. The deadline to register for the 2018 Meeting of the Minds (MOTM) is Saturday, September 15.
This year’s MOTM takes place in Key West from Wednesday, October 31 – Sunday, November 4, 2018. During that time you can enjoy phlocking with Parrot Heads from around the world while you soak up the sun, enjoy some incredible musical entertainment, and perhaps even partake in a few cocktails! Registration is just $99 and it includes a full lineup of incredible music from sunrise until well past sundown… with even more events happening all around the island. It’s a great time and this year, it kicks of on Halloween… so that will be PHUN! What are you waiting for?
To learn more about MOTM visit www.phip.com/meeting, where you can read more about this annual gathering, see photos of past events, check out a full schedule of events, and much more.
Remember, you must be an active member of an official Parrot Heads in Paradise (PHiP) club to attend. Please make sure your membership is active before you register. Reach out to me if you need me to check your membership status.
WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S UPDATE
Next Saturday, 9/15, is our annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s
We are just over one week away from our Walk to End Alzheimer’s next Saturday, September 15.
For those of you who have signed up to participate, thank you! I was really hoping we’d have shirts or something for our team this year, but we weren’t able to work out all the details in time for the walk. You know what that means … wear your finest Parrot Head attire as we walk to bring attention to this horrible disease. It’s not too late to sign up and join us, just visit http://act.alz.org/goto/CPHC to register. There is no cost to walk, and being a participant at this event is truly a fun and moving experience. You won’t regret joining the cause. Walkers who are joining us can plan to meet up near the registration table at 8:00 AM. Just look for Parrot Heads, you usually can’t miss us!
If you can’t be there in person to walk the walk, you can always donate to our team to show your support. Donations can be made online at http://act.alz.org/goto/CPHC.
