CPHC Weekly News

We have no official club events this week, but lots to recap from our meeting last week. Thank you to all of you for coming out and supporting us and our great cause. It was a great first meeting of the year… here’s to many much more PHUN in 2018!

January Fundraising Recap

If you missed joining us for our January gathering, you missed a good one! Brian, Bubba and Jim performed great music all night long, and we raised funds through donations, raffle and silent auction to support the Douglas County Fallen Officer Fund. This fund provides assistance to Douglas County Sheriff officers and their families when officers are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.

I am so proud to say that we raised just under $3000 at our meeting, and as a club we will be making an additional donation to bring that total to $3500! Plus, I’ve heard that our Parrot Heads that were on a cruise during the raffle raised an additional $600 on their own! That puts our final donation over $4,000.. and growing. Great job, CPHC!

That is amazing, and it’s all thanks to all of you! Thanks again for being so generous with your support and teaching everyone what it means when we say we like to Party With a Purpose!

Sadly, we were reminded once again this week how all of our local law enforcement officers and first responders face danger and uncertainty when they do their job each day. There is never enough we can do to repay those who give their lives to serve and protect us. In addition to the Douglas County Fallen Officer Fund, we have included the Colorado Police Officers Foundation link below, where you can donate in memory of Adams’ County Deputy Heath Gumm who was killed earlier this week. If you are looking for a local charity to support this year, we encourage you to give generously to support these organizations, or to your local firsts responders.

Coming Soon…

National Margarita Day is coming! Each year on February 22 we celebrate one of our favorite boozy beverages. This year we were thinking we should plan a get-together with our fellow CPHC friends! If you have ideas on where we should gather for National Margarita Day on Thursday, February 22, let me know. Maybe we can even have a few gatherings in different areas around town if some of you would like to help out. We’re open to any ideas, so shoot them our way! Otherwise, stay tuned and we’ll see what kind of margarita-filled fun we can pull together.

The Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held in downtown Denver on Saturday, March 17. Save the date for a full day of fun and celebration as we march in the parade, and then party at the Fainting Goat afterward! We met last week to discuss the float and landed on some great ideas, so full details will be coming in the next couple of weeks. With the parade on St. Paddy’s Day this year, we know this will be fun… so we hope to see you all come out to celebrate the day with us!

Party with A Purpose again this summer! Save the date for our Annual Party With a Purpose this year, being held in Castle Rock on Saturday, July 21. The Grodsky’s are once again hosting this big event, and this year’s musical acts include Thom Shepherd, Coley McCabe, and Donny Brewer! You will not want to miss out… this will be one of the last times Coley will be performing, given that she recently announced her retirement from singing. It will be a full day of fun, once again benefitting TLC Meals on Wheels. Ticket details are coming soon.

More to come! That’s all we currently have on the calendar, but we’re always looking for more! If you would like to host an event, a Beer Friday, or other types of gatherings, let us know. Warmer weather is right around the corner… lets fill our CPHC calendar up with some PHUN events! Keep an eye on your CPHC email and when we schedule more fun events, we’ll let you know.

That’s all for this week. Have a great weekend!

FINS UP!
