CPHC Newsletter
Hello and Happy Thursday, Parrot Heads!!
On this day, June 6, 2019, let’s all take a moment to remember the brave soldiers, sailors and airmen… the survivors and those who lost their lives on the day the Allied forces stormed Normandy, France. D-Day. It was the beginning of the fall of Hitler’s Third Reich.
JUNE EVENTS
This Saturday is our Dawg Day! Please join us for a fundraiser for My Fairy Dawg Mother – Saturday, June 8, from 2pm to 5pm. The Colorado Parrot Head Club is one of the sponsors of the event. The event will be held at Someplace Else Brewery in Arvada (6425 W 52nd Ave #6, Arvada, CO 80002). There will be a new beer on tap, called “Dixie’s Drool” named after Dixie the Bloodhound. There will be lots of raffle prizes, silent auction items, and a fun pint glass you can purchase to commemorate the event. This is a dog friendly event, but please only bring dogs who are friendly with people and other dogs.
Robin and Pete will be running the dog paw paint booth! We’ll be dipping dog paws in paint, and imprinting onto canvas or a nice wooden “canvas”. We have 4 “artistic” options to chose from. The cost is $20 for the small canvas, $15 for the wooden “canvas” or $30 for the larger canvas, with each additional dog will be $5 more. All the money collected goes to My Fairy Dawg Mother. Stop by and say hi!
Hope to see you all there!

JULY EVENTS
“Margaritaville Night at the Rockies.” For those who haven’t already picked up your tickets from Karen Bell. Please get in touch with her at [email protected] to arrange getting your tickets from her.
There are 4 tickets available, since we have some people can no longer go. Please contact me and I will put you in touch with the people selling their tickets.
Also… there are still tickets available. You can buy them online at: www.rockies.com/margaritaville
Remember – The Rockies issued the tickets by T-Shirt size. Don’t trade them now.. or you won’t get the size of shirt you ordered. Wait until you are at the game to move tickets and seats around. We want everyone to sit with their own spouses and family, so we’ll have to figure out the seating when we get there.
Our friends and fellow Parrot Heads from the Northern Colorado PHC will be joining us that night!
“Escape to Coors Field” on July 13, 2019 will be a fun-filled “beachy” day. When we find out what time the gates open for the pregame rooftop performance by a Buffett Tribute band, we will let everyone know. We will also let you know what gate you need to go to in order to get your t-shirt for the event.

We have some awesome charities this year!
The Community Table (Food Bank) and My Fairy Dawg Mother (Dog Rescue)
As always, we will have an awesome silent auction and “Chinese raffle,” with all the proceeds being split between these 2 charities.
This is also a food drive.. so please bring canned goods; peanut butter and canned proteins; toiletries; and dog and cat food. All of the donated items will go to help the Community Table. For those of you unfamiliar with the Community Table, it is a non-profit organization that offers many services. These include emergency, low income senior, and other food assistance. They have an amazing facility where they not only provide food, they provide job placement assistance, housing assistance and many other services for low income families. One of my favorite programs there is called “Feeding the Future.” This awesome program provides a bag of food every Friday to the kids on the free or reduced lunch program at the local schools. This ensures the kids have food for the weekends.
My Fairy Dog Mother is a no shelter dog rescue. It was founded in an effort to save abused and neglected dogs from across the United States and pair them with loving and stable Colorado families. They are a Colorado based non-profit dog rescue that advocates finding the perfect long term home for each dog that is brought under the rescue umbrella. Their foster program is constructed of a large group of Colorado families that have opened their homes to our rescue dogs. By temporarily housing a rescue dog in a functional home they erase the stresses that boarding facilities can induce. The integration of a rescue pup into an established pack promotes socialization and develops self confidence. In addition, the rescue pup receives individualized attention and love from their foster family.
We need your help! We are still looking for silent auction items! We have some great donations so far, but we still need a lot more! Please contact Karen Bell or Robin Reed to discuss, if you’d like to help us out.
