Happy Valentine’s Day!

I hope everyone is having a great week!

This is meeting week, so I wanted to remind everyone of the meeting this Saturday at Hoppers, 6pm. (Same time, same place, same bat channel!) Hope to see everyone there!

The charity this week will be the Arvada Community Table (Arvada Food Bank). They are in desperate need of peanut butter and canned goods right now. In addition to all the great programs they provide to those in need, they have been providing food to any Federal Government worker that was affected by the shutdown, regardless of area they live in.. so the food bank is short of food right now. Please bring canned goods and/or peanut butter to donate to them. All the cash we raise for the raffle will also go to them. Thank you!

For those who bought tickets to the Avalanche game.. don’t forget, the game is this Saturday at 1pm. We are meeting at Brooklyn’s, next to the Pepsi Center, at 11am for lunch before the game. It’ll be a long day of Parrot Head phun with the meeting shortly after the game. See you Saturday…GO AVS!!

Is there any interest in a group going to a Nuggets game in April? We can get a group price of $40 per ticket and that includes a free drink. Please come see myself, Robin Reed or Karen Bell at the meeting and let us know if you are interested, or send us a email to [email protected] if you are interested. I need to get the counts to the Nuggets ASAP if we have enough interest.

The Denver St Patrick’s Parade Committee has invited the Parrot Head club to a going away / Happy Retirement Party for Bonnie and Gary Dickinson, on Saturday, March 9 at the Celtic Downtown… 6pm until ???. Gary (aka Buba) has played guitar and entertained us for many years at our monthly club meetings. Bonnie and Gary have been club members for a long time, and are now retiring and moving to Florida. Let’s all join them for a goodbye and happy retirement celebration at the Celtic!

Mark your calendars…It’s almost National Margarita Day!! We’re going to have a Phlocking at the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant (Park Meadows) – 9535 Park Meadows Drive, Lone Tree, Colorado 80124… from 5pm until 7pm. Please let Karen Bell know if you plan on going, so she can update the reservation. We’ve had several replies on Facebook, but if you haven’t responded, please let Karen know you’d like to go.

One last item… the club is always looking for raffle items, so feel free to bring items for the raffle. Please keep it nice, and not “white elephant” type or inappropriate gifts. Feel free to bring a raffle item (or 2) to the meetings. If we have too many, we can take it home and bring it back for the next meeting.

SAVE THE DATE:

Denver St Patrick’s Parade
March 16 (more details to come)

Don’t forget.. the St Patrick’s parade is fast approaching. You must be a member or guest of a member in order to walk with us. I will have those “fun” bracelets at the float build. You must wear the bracelet to walk with us in the parade. The float build will be on the weekends of March 2&3 and March 9&10. Wear clothes that can get dirty or can get paint on them, and shoes that can get muddy. We’ve had a lot of snow this year.. and the area where we build the float might be muddy.

The float build will be at my house, same as the last few years. See your newsletter for the full address. Bring food to share (or your own if you’d rather) since there really aren’t many places near by to get food.

Fins Up!
